The hospital is a health care facility , a gathering place for the sick and healthy people , or it can be a place of disease transmission and allow the environmental pollution and health problems " .
While understanding the hospital according to Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. . 340/MENKES/PER/III/2010 is :
" The hospital is a health care institution that is organized as a complete individual health care that provides inpatient , outpatient and emergency department " .
From the above understanding , the hospital to do some types of services including medical services , medical support services , care services , rehabilitation services , prevention and health promotion , as a place of education and or training of medical and medical , as the research and development of science and technology in health as well as to avoid the risks and health problems as intended , so the need for health penyelenggaan hospital environment in accordance with health requirements .
2.1.2 Classification of Hospitals
The hospital consists of general hospitals and specialty hospitals . General Hospital is a hospital that provides health care services to all areas and types of diseases . While the Special Hospital is a hospital that provides primary care to one area or one particular type of disease , based disciplines , age groups , the organ or type of disease .
Classification is the grouping class hospital hospital based facilities and service capabilities . Based on the facilities and service capabilities according to Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia No. . 340/MENKES/PER/III/2010 on Hospital Classification is divided into :
1 . Classification General Hospital
a) The General Hospital of the Class A which should have facilities and capabilities of medical services at least four (4 ) Basic Specialist Medical Care , 5 ( five ) Medical Support Specialist Care , 12 (twelve ) Other Specialist Medical Services and 13 (thirteen ) Sub Specialist Medical Services .
b ) Class B General Hospital which should have facilities and capabilities of medical services at least four (4 ) Specialist Medical Services Association , 4 ( four ) Medical Support Specialist Care , 8 ( eight ) Other Specialist Medical Services and two (2 ) Medical Care Basic subspecialty .
c ) General Hospital Grade C which should have facilities and capabilities of medical services at least four (4 ) Specialist Medical Services Association and four (4 ) Medical Support Services Specialist .
d ) General Hospital Grade D which should have facilities and capabilities of medical services at least two (2 ) Basic Specialist Medical Services .
2 . Classification Special Hospital
a) Hospital for Special Class A
b ) Special Hospital Class B
c ) Special Hospital Grade C
The classification is determined based Special Hospital services , Human Resources , equipment , facilities and infrastructure , as well as administration and management .
